Patou
Patou’s current body of work consists of large scale, heavily tactile oils on canvas. Patou’s visual vocabulary is primarily based on color. Subtle, but expressively bold, deliberate strokes, spatters and marks create painterly abstractions that not only please the eye, but suggest an intellectual approach to painting. Patou’s approach to her work is a carefully constructed composition, complemented by a strong feeling of color. Each painting represents an organic sensibility combined with elegance and raw emotion. They are provocative, bold, and spontaneous making a statement through the careful manipulation of paint, creativity, and imagination.
