Artist Name: Clara Bergel
Biography:

French artist born in 1963. Clara's professional career began in the 80's, when a group of friends asked her to give them painting lessons. This teaching experience opened her to the world and she decided at last to unveil her works to the public. "I had liberated myself of my fears, of my fear of the gaze of others; I started with the mixed technique that allowed me to express all the energy that burst out of me." After several exhibitions in France, she decided to discover the world and she began to exhibit in the United States and Europe, much to the public's satisfaction. "Fragment of Interior" is a series of portraits of the armchair, furniture which becomes the reflection of a personality.

We seek ourselves through our interior, according to Clara, "show me your armchair, I would say to you who you are". The texture of the paintings gives a new 3 dimensional feel to the art. You can not only see the painting, but also touch it, be in fusion with it. Clara is generous with her and wants to offer a part of her in each painting. She wants to give you a taste of each person and illustrate a part of every story that she has lived in her life. Her art exists to be shared, and Clara cannot imagine painting for herself.

Her motivation is her desire to always be in contact with people, to take the energy from these meetings and then use it in her painting. Clara does not want one to think that a chair is just a chair. She does not wish for one to consider their environment so simplistically. "There is a life inside everything," she says, and she has chosen the chair as her subject to express this concept. Clara's painting is her way to capture all the energy that bursts out of her. She puts many materials in the paintings: varnishing, glass, paper of gold, plaster, resin, acrylic, oil, pastel...it gives life to her painting.

In the last few years she has exhibited in International art fairs in New York, Paris, Toronto, Milan, and Geneva.
